In a shocking revelation, Miss Universe runner-up Chidimma Adetshina has announced her retirement from pageantry, calling the experience deeply traumatic.
Speaking in an interview with Silverbird TV, the beauty queen revealed her plans to leave South Africa and return to Nigeria to focus on her personal growth and education.
“Finishing in the top 2 at Miss Universe still feels unreal to me,” Adetshina said. “Honestly, I’m done with pageantry. It was a traumatic experience, and people don’t understand how hard it was for me. There were moments during the competition when I almost quit.”
Adetshina, who was crowned Miss Universe Africa and Oceania after placing as first runner-up, shocked many with her decision to step away from the spotlight.
She expressed a desire to focus on discovering herself and furthering her education.
The Nigerian beauty previously won the Miss Nigeria title after withdrawing from the Miss South Africa contest amidst controversy over her nationality.
Despite her success, Adetshina’s candid admission highlights the unseen challenges faced by beauty queens on the world stage.
